Conrad 特定助教		 My current research focusses on inverse problems in agriculture and geotechnical engineering, which relate to the determination of unobservable system properties from observable data. Examples of such problems include the determination of hydraulic and elastic properties of earthen dams and embankments, identification of geometry of underground cavities etc. My interests lie in the interface of modern statistical inversion algorithms and computational mechanics and my target is to continue to develop more efficient and robust inversion algorithms for practical use. In my role as a teacher, apart from the course 地域環境工学概論Ⅲ, my main aim is to introduce basic concepts related to fundamental entities in environment such as soil, water, forests, ecosystems in English. Apart from learning the basics, these ILAS courses will help familiarize students with the use of English in engineering and science and prepare them for an international career.

地域環境工学概論Ⅰ，Ⅱにおいて学習した内容をふまえて，環境問題等に関する討論，実際の機械を使った実習や作業，現地見学，ビデオを使った研究紹介等により，地域環境工学とは何かをより深く理解する機会を提供する。
